Are Child Patients Welcome?
Yes, children are welcome in our practice! It is recommended that children have their first dental check-up after the eruption of their first tooth (around 6 months of age) or by the age of 12 months.
Baby Teeth Just Fall Out So Why Are They Important?
"Baby Teeth" are important for many reasons. Healthy teeth allow children to speak and eat normally. They also serve as important space holders for the developing adult teeth. Children who have dental decay may develop painful tooth infections. It is important to realize that dental decay is caused by a particular type of acid producing bacteria that may also infect a child's adult teeth. Baby teeth that are decayed (have cavities) should be restored to prevent dental infections and to reduce the amount of cavity causing bacteria in the child's saliva that can infect their newly erupting adult teeth.
